Event Description: The inauguration of President Obama’s second term will have big consequences for merit shop contractors. ABC National General Counsel Maury Baskin will discuss pending regulatory changes that are expected to have major impacts on labor relations in the construction industry, both nationally and in Maryland. Topics include government-mandated project labor agreements (PLAs), pro-union rulings at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and radical new rules expected from the U.S. Department of Labor. Recent rule changes by Maryland’s state government will also be addressed.
