November 3rd is the Presidential General Election!

Voter Guide

Click here to view the Maryland State Board of Elections page for more detailed election information.

Vote by Mail

Due to COVID-19, all Marylanders are encouraged to vote by mail. To vote by mail, eligible voters must request a mail-in ballot from the State Board of Elections or their local board.

Requests for a mail-in ballot must be received by October 20, 2020. You can click here to request your ballot online.

It is important to remember...
Maryland voters who have requested a mail-in ballot can expect to receive their ballot beginning at the end of September and that mail-in ballots must be postmarked on or by November 3, or placed in a designated drop box by 8 p.m. on November 3, 2020.

Click here to watch a video on how to request a mail-in ballot.

Returning your ballot
It is important to remind your constituents to do the following when returning their mail-in ballots:
  • Use black ink to mark the ballot.
  • Sign the return envelope. Do not sign the ballot.
  • Seal the return envelope.
Return ballot using the postage-paid return envelope. Postmark or place in dropbox by Nov. 3rd.

Vote in Person
Marylanders who cannot vote by mail or who would like to vote in person have the option to vote during the early voting period or on Election Day.

Early Voting
Early voting will take place over an eight-day period beginning on Monday, October 26 to Monday, November 2 (including Saturday and Sunday) from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., with early voting centers also open on election day, Tuesday, November 3.

On early voting days, approximately 80 vote centers will be open statewide. Voters can cast their vote at any vote center in their county of residence. The list of early voting centers are posted here.

Early voting in Washington County will take place at the Washington County Early Voting Center (17718 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740) October 26, 2020 through November 2, 2020 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Vote on Election Day
On election day, more than 300 vote centers will be open statewide, including the early voting centers. Voters can cast their vote at any vote center in their county of residence, and residents in the City of Baltimore may cast their vote at any vote center in the city.
Plan ahead to determine which voting center works best for you! The list of Election Day vote centers are posted here, more locations may be added.
Vote centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day.
