Our mission is to attract, engage and retain young professionals ages 21-40 in the Hagerstown-Washington County region.
Our vision is to enhance our region by cultivating business relationships, and ultimately retaining young professionals for the economic growth in the Hagerstown-Washington County region.
What We Do
This group was created to benefit young professionals from the ages of 21 to 40. The group meets for professional development events, networking, volunteer initiatives, casual hangouts, and more.
Events are specifically structured to help young professionals advance in their communication, networking, and leadership skills. In addition, we strive for GenNext members to become advocates through community involvement in the Hagerstown-Washington County region.
Emerging Leaders Mentorship Program
The ELMP initiative is a brand new addition to GenNext, started in 2021, to bring experienced professionals that are well-known in the community to a group of GenNext members. The idea is for each speaker to share their background with GenNext, and then answer various questions from the group to share advice and wisdom that they have gathered throughout their career.
Not only does this type of event provide valuable takeaways for GenNext members, but we hope to demonstrate the worth of a ‘young professional.’
“Out of the Chamber came GenNext, the under 40 professional networking group. Tailored towards the “younger” working generation in the area, our goal is help grow talent in Washington County through development, philanthropic work, and networking. By offering the younger generations of future leaders support and camaraderie, we hope to retain this talent in the area for future development and economic growth!”
